- Sunday Scripture Readings
- Reflection on the Scriptures has become
more and more a part of basic Christian spirituality. At times
we would like to return to the Sunday Scriptures at home, but
we do not have the missalette with us. At other times we may
be interested in seeing just what came before or immediately
after the reading for the day to gain more insights.
To encourage this encounter with
the Scriptures, we will be including in the bulletin the scripture
reading references for the current Sunday and the following Sunday.
In addition, in our on-line bulletin we will have the actual
links to the readings.

- QUESTIONS OF THE
WEEK
- Divine Mercy
Sunday/Second Sunday of Easter
-
- Belief in God is not the
only type of belief. People also believe in such things as their
abilities, in the goodness (or wickedness) of human nature, and
in the hope (or despair) of things to come. What we believe affects
how we live.
- Adults: What do I believe about God and
the world around me? How do my beliefs shape how I think and
act?
Children: How does my belief in God affect how
I act with my family and friends?

(from the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops
Secretariat of Pro-Life Activities, 2010)
The human goal is not well-being but God himself,
and
human life must be defended at every stage. Indeed,
no one is master of his own life. Rather we are all called to
treasure life and to respect it from the moment of conception
to its natural end.
I express my appreciation of those
who work more directly at the service of children, the sick and
the elderly... Pope Benedict XVI, remarks after Angelus

BOOKLETS

April, May and June are included in this issue.

are very well done. Each issue is $2.00, or you can purchase

information. LITURGY BITS AND BYTES
Transformation
Full, active participation means entering
into the movement of the liturgy itself. Liturgy wants to transform
us into the image of Gods Son. If we hold ourselves back,
we hinder the action of Gods grace within us. If we try
to maintain our separation from our brothers and sisters, we
resist Gods efforts to form us into the one Body of Christ.
If we enter into the action of the liturgy, then God can shape
our minds and hearts according to the divine will. Then we will
become effective instruments of Gods will in our world.
Empowered by Gods grace, we who have been transformed can
be used by God to transform our world.
