- QUESTIONS OF THE
WEEK
- The Most Holy
Body & Blood of Christ
-
- Breaking bread together
is more than a repetitious ritual or a boring memory of past
events. Through the Eucharist we are nourished to live as the
Body of Christ in the world and sent to bring others into communion
with Christ.
- Adults: How can I be bread (nourishment)
this week for someone who needs help?
Children: How can I invite others to learn about
Jesus?

Christi)
The
Solemnity of Corpus Christi commemorates the institution of the
Holy Eucharist, paralleling Holy Thursday commemorating Our Lords
institution of the Eucharist. Corpus Christi was introduced in
the late 13th century to encourage the faithful give special
honor to the institution of the Holy Eucharist to the Blessed
Sacrament. The official title of this Solemnity was changed in
1970 to The Body and Blood of Christ; and it is still on the
Roman Missals official Calendar for the universal Church
on Thursday after Trinity Sunday; however, where it is not a
day of obligation, it is usually celebrated on the Sunday following
Trinity Sunday. --Catholic Encyclopedia,

- LITURGY BITS AND BYTES
Confirmation
Touches
of red to symbolize the fire of the Spirit are frequently used
for the celebration of Confirmation. The rite of Confirmation
asks a response of faith from the candidates as well as from
the parish faith family. We promise to help them to grow in the
grace of the sacrament. The candidates say yes to
their faith and to the Holy Spirit. But first they should ask
for the support of the parish. How can we support them? Our example
at Sunday worship, the witness of our individual Christian lives,
and our willingness to be people of service to others, can be
easily seen. Come, Holy Spirit, fill their lives with the power
of your love and renew this community in its call to worship,
witness, and service.
